Afterschool Fun
C2 Pipeline has started off this year's afterschool program with a bang! Our sites offer 2.5 hours of programming Monday - Thursday. During this time, students receive dinner, academic help and participate in hands-on, project based enrichments. It's a terrific time for students to get to know their peers, have fun and learn about a wide array of the up-and-coming career pathways. In addition to STEM career exploration, C2 Pipeline aims to expose students to a variety of cultural experiences. Below, you will find some of the activities and events that our students participated in during the month of March.
On April 23, 2022, many of our student leaders gathered for the C2 Pipeline Youth Leadership Retreat at Tamarack Adventure and Retreat Center. There, they participated in numerous activities, including archery, rockwall climbing, ziplining, animal education programming, teambuilding and leadership skill building. The Youth Action Councils from our various sites had fun getting to know one another and making memories! Below are some photos from the event.
Student of the Month: Tiriza Dawood (Warren Woods Tower High School)
Tiriza is a current Sophomore at Warren Woods Tower High School and an active participant in the C2 Pipeline afterschool program. Tiriza is a student leader in our program and recently attended our Youth Leadership Retreat. She is always a joy to have after-school and has a wonderful, positive attitude. Something that sets her apart is her willing to lend a hand whenever needed. Recently, Tiriza volunteered to watch the WWT C2 Pipeline pet hamster, "Biscuit", over Spring Break - which was a tremendous help and a relief to know that Biscuit was in good hands while school was out of session! Thanks for all of your help, Tiriza! Keep up the great work!
Staff Member of the Month: Nedra Hall (East English Village Preparatory Academy)
Nedra Hall is the current Site Coordinator at EEVPA, she has been with C2 Pipeline for several years and previously held the Site Coordinator role at Martin Luther King Jr. Senior High School. Nedra has been a tremendous source of support to both students and colleagues over the past few years. She brings a new, fresh perspective to C2 Pipeline and is always willing to pitch in when needed. Recently, she spent the afternoon helping out another C2 site, when they experienced a staffing issue. She help calm my nerves since I was dealing with a family emergency and was afraid I'd need to leave early from C2P. She was caring, compassionate and gave me some great words of encouragement. My students enjoyed having Nedra join us for the day!! Thank you for your positive attitude and hard work, Nedra!

SEL Theme of the Month: Service & Citizenship
In the month of May, the Social and Emotional Learning sessions will revolve around student self-efficacy. Students in our 24 sites will be working on their self-confidence, self-esteem, and better understanding of their place in their community and world. As young adults, many of our students struggle with building and maintaining a positive self-image as they explore how they fit into society. Our afterschool program allows students to explore their interests, test their capabilities and work towards achieving their goals. C2 is committed to increasing our students' mental and emotional fortitude and we encourage all of our community members to take some time to reflect and reconnect with the people, places and activities that bring us joy and purpose.
