Afterschool Fun
C2 Pipeline continues to provide afterschool programming in 24 high school sites in the Metro-Detroit area. Our focus is to help students become ready for college and career aspirations, with a concentration on STEM. Each of our sites run at least 2.5 hours of programming Monday - Thursday. Students will be able to enroll for the career pathways that interest them the most: Health and Human Services, Science, Business and Engineering Technology. All enrichments are hands-on and project based, making it not only educational, but fun as well. Check out our Centers to see if you or your student is eligible for this program. Wayne State University and University of Detroit Mercy Partner Shoutout!
This past month, C2 Pipeline reflected on the SEL theme of gratitude. One thing that C2 Pipeline is extremely thankful for is our wonderful partnerships with WSU and UDM. During WSU Days at MLK High School, several of our WSU partner colleges and schools ventured to our site to give students information about admissions, programs and offer hands-on activities. The event was a huge success and students were able to learn so much about what WSU has to offer them! Thank you to everyone who took part!
Another wonderful partner, University of Detroit Mercy Dental has hosted many of our schools on field trips these past few months. There, students learn about the program, admissions requirements, tour the facilities and create their own dental impression. Thank you to everyone at UDM Dental for allowing our sites to visit!
Student of the Month: Nikolaus Norris (Oak Park High School)
Nikolaus is a current Sophomore at Oak Park High School, who attends C2 PIpeline's afterschool program on a regular basis. Nikolaus is a very polite young man, who is new to the Oak Park school district this year. He is always willing to help out Ms. Pam and Ms. Tracey with clubs and at dinner. During our Lights On Afterschool field trip, Nikolaus met new people and developed new friendships. He cares about others and is always willing to help whenever needed. Thank you for all of your hardwork, Nikolaus!
Staff Member of the Month: Brian Ambory (Frontier International Academy)
Brian Ambory has been the Site Coordinator at Frontier International Academy since Fall 2019. Brian is dedicated to the success of the students he serves. He goes well above what is required of him and for many of the students at Frontier, Brian has been the steady and reliable force that has kept the students feeling connected and loved during these uncertain times. He is an outstanding example of how afterschool professionals make personal and positive impacts on students who need the support the most!
C2 Pipeline Partner of the Month: Brook Smith (Fitzgerald High School)
Ms. Smith is the broadcast teacher at Fitzgerald High School. She, along with her students, create Fitz News - which is broadcast each 6th hour. She really helps build awareness about C2 Popeline in the school by helping us send out announcements and information through Fitz News. Thank you for your support, Ms. Smith!
