Afterschool Learning
C2 Pipeline provides 2.5 hours of afterschool programming at our 19 high school centers Monday-Thursday during the school year. During the program, students participate in a vareity of engaging STEM activities, get college/career planning advice, build their leadership and teamwork skills and have fun along the way. If you are a student at one of our high school sites and are interested in joining the C2 Pipeline program, fill out the Registration Form and turn it in to your school's Site Coordinator.
Below are some photos of activities that have happened during the past month at our sites:
C2 Adventures
Students from Lincoln High School, Center Line High School and Detroit Collegiate High School visited the Detroit Zoo, where they learned about tracking animal behaviors and how this technique is so important for animal caretakers and researchers. Students were tasked with documenting behaviors of either buffalo, eagles or foxes - their findings were later discussed with a professional zookeeper. C2 Pipeline would like to thank the Detroit Zoological Society for sponsoring this trip and taking the time to educate our students on this tremendous career!
Student of the Month: Avery Turner (Fitzgerald High School)
Avery Turner is such an articulate and charasmatic young man who is always willing yo share his knowledge of politics as well as, always being willing to assust in co-facilitating the after school Enrichments.
Staff of the Month: Pamela Geeck (Oak Park High School)
Pamela Geeck has been the Site Coordinator at Oak Park High School for 6 years. During her time with C2 Pipeline, Ms. Pam has displayed the epitome of what it means to be a "Team Player". Her professional and friendly demeanor is ever present in all that she does. Her willingness to help everyone is well known amongst both the older and new staff members. She never waivers in her dedication to the C2 Pipeline mission and goes above and beyond her assigned duties to ensure her students get the most benefits out of the program! Thank you for all of your hard work, Ms. Pam!
Parent of the Month: Sabrina Passmore (Detroit Collegiate Prep - Northwestern)
Mrs. Passmore's willingness to act as a classroom helper, mentor students, share resources from her business background, assist with the planning of field trips, and make herself available for Independent Study has made an immediate and positive impact on our students. Her consistent parental presence within our learning environment has helped to develop a better atmostphere for our students. Additionally, she has agreed to become the parent component needed to fulfill our 'Youth Advisory Council' parent member. Thank You Mrs. Passmore for all you do!
