C2 After School
C2 Pipeline continues to provide afterschool programming in 24 high school sites in the Metro-Detroit area. Our focus is to help students become ready for college and career aspirations, with a concentration on STEM. Each of our sites run at least 2.5 hours of programming, daily Monday - Thursday. Some of our sites are hosting in-person programs, while some are still virtual. Students will be able to enroll for the career pathways that interest them the most: Health and Human Services, Science, Business and Engineering Technology. All enrichments are hands-on and project based, making it not only educational, but fun as well. Check out our Centers to see if you or your student is eligible for this program. To become part of our C2 team, simply find your school's registration tile and complete the online registration. All applications can be found by following this link: www.waynestate.inforeadyscale.com/hub.

June 21 - August 5, 2021
The STEM Challenge is an interactive virtual competition that lasts 6 weeks throughout the summer. High school students will work in teams to create a viable solution to one of the three topics listed below. Teams will be given their own mentor, access to weekly workshops with industry and academic professionals, and virtual platform in which to be creative. Students will submit their projects at the end of the six weeks though a video submission, and an informal research paper. Their video and paper will be judged by a panel of judges along with the contribution of social media.

Social Emotional Theme: Self-Efficacy
For the month of May, the C2 Pipeline SEL Committee chose the theme "Self-Efficacy" for our Social and Emotional Learning activities. Students will engage in activities that focus on building self-confidence, self-awareness and reaching their potential. Students will participate in many reflective and interactive activities this month, including: developing SMART goals, creating a Psychology Body Map and learning how to positively reframe their thinking. This will be the final month of our SEL Calendar for the 2020-2021 School Year. Did you enjoy our new SEL Curriculum? Are there any themes or activities you would like to see next year? Email us at c2pipeline@wayne.edu.
Student of the Month: Ashlee Harris (Detroit Collegiate Prep @ Northwestern)
Ashlee Harris before taking ill, has not only been our most consistent student this year, and always showing initiative and creating ideas to improve the C2 Pipeline program, but even when Ashlee was out of school due to illness, she would still ask her Mom for permission to group call the SC on a daily basis for the purpose of checking on students, offering ideas on how to recruit within the COVID-19 pandemic, sending out e-mail invites to fellow students, calling students with ideas on how to deal with potential stress and loneliness, and overall just making every attempt to encourage other and practice the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Calendar activities / wisdom she would learn during her time spent in the daily club activities. For Ashlee, it did not matter if this was time we could record in EZ Reports or not, as she simply cares for her fellow students and the C2 Pipeline staff and was simply trying to ensure no one was experience stress or loneliness during the COVID-19 pandemic, and she did it all why she was ill herself!
