C2 Adventures

Students at Lincoln High School in Warren visited University of Detroit Mercy Dental during the month of December. While they were there, they spoke to faculty and students about their various program components, services and created dental impressions. Below are some photos from the students' visit. Thank you, UDM, for hosting our students at your state-of-the-art facility.

Student of the Month: Ja'Von Williams (Southfield High School for the Arts & Technology)

javonJa'Von began C2 Pipeline the second half of last year at Southfield A & T.  The more he attended, the more he invested into his grades. Ja'Von continues his commitment to C2 Pipeline and was voted by his peers to be Student Advisor President. He has stepped up to the challenge impressively and takes the position very seriously. During the day, he actively recruits students and speaks about C2 Pipeline's impact. He continues to grow in maturity, commitment to himself, and increased his leadership skills. He has made the Honor Roll again this card marking, a testiment to his dedication to academic progress. When asked to lead in any way during program, Ja'von takes direction seriously and his peers respond with great respect. Thank you, Ja'Von for all the hard work you put into the program!! Keep up the great work!

Staff of the Month: Mr. Darrin Eason (South Lake High School)

Mr. Eason (AKA Mr. E) voluntarily puts in extra hours each week jut so he can make time to help students during day school. He has made strong bonds with the students and is always ready to listen. He is also the Connect 4 Champion! Thank you, Mr. E for all of your hard work and dedication to the C2 Pipeline program and our mission!!

Parent of the Month: Carmen Lewis-Harris (Detroit Collegiate Prep - Northwestern)

Ms. Lewis-Harris maintains consistent contact with the Site Coordinator to ensure there are no miscommunications or hick ups in her daughter (Tara)'s grade goals.  At the start of the year, when Tara Lewis set educational goals, her mother came up to to visist and ensure that all staff knew she was in support and this was a family goal, not just an individual goal.  Upon receiving the 1st report cards in November, Tara Lewis had reached her goals, due to the community effort of all interested C.2. Pipeline team members and Tara's family. More recently, during an emergency with food services at the D.C.P., Ms. Lewis-Harris came to the rescue with a car full of pizza, pops, chips, and other snacks.  Her response, was simple, "C.2. Pipeline is too valuable for students to miss, and I am personally so thankful for the C.2. Pipeline program.  Tara's report cards definitely reflects the changes she's made since in the program, and the support she has received received from the program.  She (tara) has set a goal and achieved it with the assistance of C.2. Pipeline!"  But, for all of us here at the D.C.P. Northwestern site, we all can admit, it was truly because of the dedication, follow up, and support of Mrs. Carmen Lewis-Harris as a parent that really made the difference!
