 C2 Pipeline E-Newsletter: November 2019

Afterschool Fun

C2 Pipeline has started off this year's afterschool program with a bang! Our sites offer 2.5 hours of programming Monday - Thursday. During this time, students receive dinner, academic help and participate in hands-on, project based enrichments. It's a terrific time for students to get to know their peers, have fun and learn about a wide array of the up-and-coming career pathways.

Apple Days

On November 6th, the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Science hosted the annual Community Apple Days event. During this event, 500 C2 Pipeline students were given the opportunity to explore various graduate, undergrauate and certificate programs offered by the WSU College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences - including Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Nurse Anesthesia, Pathology, Forensic Science, Mortuary Science, Radiology Technician and more. Not only did students get a chance to visit the college and speak to professors, professionals and current students - but they also were able to participate in interactive sessions designed to give them insight into the professions and programs. We would like to express our immense gratitude to all of the EACPHS staff, students and volunteers who made this event such an incredible experience!

Engineering Society of Detroit STEM Fair

On November 7th, students from several of our high school sites traveled to Wayne State University's Student Center to participate in the Engineering Society of Detroit STEM Fair, where over 15 student organizations from Wayne State and University of Detroit Mercy talked to C2 Pipeline students about their organization and facilitated interactive activities - such as slime, nitro ice-cream and an escape room. Students were also able to participate in several games and were provided with opportunities to discuss how getting involved with campus organizations can help them maximize their success in college. We want to thank the Engineering Society of Detroit, along with the other WSU and UDM organizations for hosting and particpating in this awesome event!
