Summer Is Coming....

...have you signed up for camp yet? Join C2 Pipeline on campus this summer for a 6 weeks of fun, STEM learning on Wayne State University campus. Meet new people, explore different career fields and learn about subjects that interest you!

Summer Day Camps run Monday - Friday from 9AM - 3PM. Transportation will be provided from our 19 high schools sites and lunch at Towers Cafe is provided daily. To see a list of our camp offerings, click here

Warriors College Experience residential camp is an 11-day program, where students will live on campus and take classes taught by WSU faculty in the fields of: Medicine, Nursing, Engineering, Social Work, Pharmacy and Health Sciences - and go to University of Detroit Mercy for our Dentistry Track. Students will work together to create a solution for a health disparity in our community. The projects will be presented to a "shark tank" of judges and winning teams will earn scholarships. Accolades & Acknowledgements

Oak Park Robotics

On May 11th, students from Oak Park High School competed in the Autonomous Innovative Vehicle Design and Mini Innovative Vehicle Design Competition at Kettering University in Flint. We would like to congratulate all of the students who competed in this incredible event, as they won the Square One Award which is about overall teamwork and the best representatives of the Square One Ideals. The Oak Park Autonomous Team was invited to visit P3 Industries to tour their facilities and shadow Cody McNeill. A special acknowledgement and kudos to Teacher William Grimm and Oak Park students on their determination and success.

Oak Park High School Robotics team at the Square One Competition at Kettering University

Zahira Malik: Med-Direct Program Acceptance

C2 Pipeline wishes to congratulate Zahira Malik for being accepted into Wayne State University's Med-Direct program - where she will be awarded the following benefits, along with many other profound opportunities, such as study abroad, research and study preparation:

  • Four years of paid undergraduate tuition
  • Four years of paid School of Medicine tuition
  • Four years of paid undergraduate room and board in university housing

 Zahira is a graduating senior at North Farmington High School. Last summer Zahira a attended C2 Pipeline's Warriors College Experience Medicine Track. During her time with the program, she heard a presentation about Med-Direct and was able to speak with representatives from this program. Congratulations on this incredible accomplishment! We look forward to seeing great things from you!

 

 


New Schools

C2 Pipeline is funded by the 21st Century Community Centers grant through the Michigan Department of Education. This grant cycle, the organization applied for 7 new schools. After waiting weeks to hear an answer, we were elated to receive the news that all of our new schools had been approved. We would like to welcome the following high schools and their communities to our organization! We are excited to serve you both during our summer programs and next school year!

Student of the Month: Alana Crawford (Oak Park High School)

Alana is a Junior at Oak Park High School. This year, Alana broke out of her shell and took on more leadership responsibilities by taking over the Youth Action Council at her site. She also expanded her peer network this year, proving she has the team building skills that we strive for all C2 Pipeline students to possess.  Alana is part of the Oak Park Robotics team that went to the Square One competition, capturing several awards. Additionally, she has proved her committment to C2 Pipeline program goals by attending over 90 days of programming!!! Keep up the great work, Alana! We look forward to seeing more great things from you next school year!

 

 


Staff of the Month: Rhonda Holstein (Southfield Regional Academic Campus)

Rhonda has been with C2 Pipeline since it's inception in 2012, where she has acted as a Site Coordinator in Pontiac Academy for Excellence and Southfield Regional Academic Campus. Rhonda is dedicated to a quality program and always goes the extra mile to help students and her co-workers. She volunteered her time and lended her equestrian expertise at our Youth Council Retreat, where she taught students about horses and the equestrian sport. She is always willing to lend a helping hand and is a source of encouragement for all of our new staff members. Her professionalism and kind-heart make her a model for everyone within the organization - students and staff alike. Thank you, Rhonda for all you do!
