Site Lead: Desmond Weems

Desmond L. Weems has a passion for students and education that is second to none. Being a
product of DPS himself, he knows about the struggle that our inner city students have to live
through in order to get ahead in life. He has been educating inner city youth for over 18 years
and continues to provide creative and innovative programming wherever he is assigned. He has
been with Wayne State University College of Nursing’s C2 Pipeline since September 2022.
During that time he has created programs such as podcasting, film production, radio production,
music club, law club, creative writing, sports broadcasting, and public speaking to name a few.
With all that said, his specialty is building relationships. The bond he creates with the staff and
his students makes him one of one.
