Site Coordinator: Sonjia Starkey

I am Sonjia Starkey, Site Coordinator for C2 Pipeline at Pershing High School in Detroit. I have worked with C2 Pipeline close to two years. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University in Speech and Language Impairment and a master’s degree from Kaplan University with an emphasis in College Administration and Leadership. I also hold a certificate in Behavior Modification from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and a professional badge in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the workplace from the University of South Florida. I have over 15 years working in Higher Education and recruitment in roles ranging from Adjunct Faculty, Department Chair, Campus Operations and Associate Dean. I take great pride in engaging students daily while assisting them with mapping out their chosen college and career path. However, the most meaningful part of my work involves fostering and reinforcing positive student-self-esteem. I look forward to fresh ongoing discoveries on ways to impact C2 pipeline students.
